The Tree on the Hill is a bespoke furniture and timber business based in West Cumbria. Using locally sourced timber, they create stunning, unique pieces and pride themselves on their use of quality local wood from oak to walnut and every English Hardwood inbetween.
Current owners Steven Younger and Huw Lowden took over the business from Danny Frost in 2011, and they have gone from strength to strength. Steven is now regarded as a master craftsman in his field. He is passionate about creating bespoke, one of a kind pieces for his customers, and that passion shows in his work. He loves being bold in his designs, using a range of traditional and more innovative techniques.
Huw also trained with Danny for a number of years and has a huge passion for traditional woodworking practices. Huw has a vast knowledge of timber and our British tree species.
At Northern Lights, we are delighted to offer a range of The Tree on the Hill mirrors. These stunning pieces are one of a kind, and a piece of art in their own right. We stock a range of sizes and woods, each with their own character. The mirrors keep the natural edge of the timber and retain the charm and beauty of the wood, and connection to the tree it came from. All timber is locally sourced so the mirrors are not only made from local trees, but also two very talented local craftsmen. A true made in Cumbria treasure!
