"To bring an extra dimension to my work, I work solely with knives, often working on big canvases to emphasise the drama, moods, and extraordinary nature of our stunning natural landscapes." - Heather Burton
Heather's passion for drawing and painting has always been there in the background despite her pursuit into journalism. Her late mother went to Grimsby School of Art and she passed on her knowledge and skills as Heather was growing up - particularly in traditional principles such as perspective and the proportions/dynamics of the human form.
She now uses the palette knife to develop a loose, often semi-abstract style. Some of the paintings are of specific locations, but others represent the general atmosphere of a place, capturing a brief moment in time, a stunning light or an approaching storm.
