Art Medium: Jewellery
Education: Trained in traditional silversmithing techniques from a young age in Colombia, and later established her own studio in Leeds, UK.
Magnolia Restrepo is a jewellery artist originally from the Andes region of Colombia, now living and working in Yorkshire. Her practice is rooted in traditional silversmithing, which she first learnt as a teenager within her family, before developing her own distinctive approach. Since moving to the UK in 2012 she has built a studio practice that is entirely handmade, combining silver, gold and carefully selected gemstones.
Her collections are inspired by the natural world, from the delicate forms of petals and roses to the intricate structures of seeds, insects and woven nests. Pre-Colombian art and ancestral motifs also resonate strongly in her work, echoing her cultural heritage and connection to the landscape of her childhood. Magnolia’s jewellery has been exhibited at national craft fairs such as Craft in Focus and Desire, and is held in galleries and private collections across the UK.
“ I was born in the Andes, surrounded by vivid nature and artisan traditions. My jewellery is a dialogue between metal, form and memory — transforming silver and gold into wearable sculptures that reflect both my heritage and the natural world around us.
